सूड घेण्याच्या मानसिकतेतून आकाराला आलेली नाट्यमय गोष्ट “एक थी बेगम”

“एक साधारण ३५ वयाचा व्यक्ती दारुच्या नशेत विंड्सर हॉटेल मध्ये जातो. नशेत असल्यामुळे तो गुंग असतो. त्याच्या मनात एकच असते की आज सपनाशी सेक्स करायचा. म्हणून तो ठरलेल्या वेळात रूम.३०३ मध्ये पोहचतो. तीथ एक ३० -३२ वयाची सेक्सी दिसणारी सपना वाट पाहत असते. ती त्याला म्हणते, “मेरे होते हुऎ, ये बन्दुंक क्य़ॊं चाहिए.” असं म्हणून त्याच्याकडची बंदूक खाली ठेवते. मग तो तिला बिलगतो. त्याला दारूचा ग्लास भरते. परत ती म्हणते, “आज तो मेरा इरादा कत्ल करनेका ही है!”. तो हसतो दारुच्या नशेत असल्यामुळे त्याच्या काही लक्षात येत नाही. नंतर तो उठून तीला किस करतो. तीच्या पाठमो-या सुदंर पाठीकडे बघून तो तीला जवळ घेतो व कुरवाळतो. जसं ९ वाजून जातात तसं काही वेळेला ती कोणी तरी येण्याची वाट पाहत असते हे तीच्या चेह-यावरच्या भावातून जाणवते. शेवटी कोणी येत नाही असं वाटल्यावर तीच बंदूक घॆते आणि गोळी चालवते पण बंदूक काही चालत नाही. मग ती घाबरते. त्याच वेळी त्याची नशा उतरते. तो उठतो आणि तिला मारायला लागतो. दोघांत झटापटी होतात. तो तिला मारणार तेवढ्यात कोणीतरी पाठीमागून गोळी झाडत. त्यात तो व्यक्ती मरतो. आणि ती सेक्सी सपना बाहेर पडते. तोंडावर उडालेले रक्ताचे डाग पुसत ती काहीतरी साध्य केल्याच्या अर्विभावात बाहेर येते.”

       या प्रसंगापासून “एक थी बेगम” या वेब मालिकेची सुरवात होते. पण लगेच ही घटना का घडली याचा फ़्लॅश बॅक पहिल्याच भागात सुरू होतो. आता प्रेक्षेकांच्या मनात प्रश्न येतो की त्या व्यक्तीला कोणी मारलं? ती त्या व्यक्तीला का मारण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होती? ती कोण आहे ही सपना? अशा प्रश्नांनी उत्सुकता वाढवली आहे. त्या साठी संपूर्ण वेब मालिका बघावी लागेल. आणि तिही १४ भागांची एमएक्स प्लेअर या ओटीटी प्लॅटफ़ॉर्मवर ८ एप्रिल २०२० रोजी मराठी आणि हिंन्दी भाषेत रिलीज झाली आहे.

       या वेब मालिकेचं कथानक असं आहे की  झहीर भटकर हा एक १९८० च्या काळातील अंडरवर्ल्ड गँगस्टर आहे. ज्याची दुबईतील कुख्यात डॉन मकसूद या टोळीशी वैर आहे. नाना म्हात्रे आणि रघु म्हात्रे हे मकसूदच्या टोळीचे नेतृत्व करतात.  मकसूदची टीम प्रामुख्याने अंमली पदार्थांच्या तस्करीमध्ये सामील आहे, झहीर त्याविरूद्ध ठामपणे उभा आहे आणि मुंबईत किंवा तस्करी करणार्‍या ड्रग्सचा नाश करतो. पुढे,  झहीरने नानाचा धाकटा भाऊ रघुला चुकून मारून टाकले. सुरुवातीला त्याला अटक करण्यात आली, परंतु त्यानंतर पुरेसा पुरावा नसल्यामुळे त्याला क्लीन चिट मिळाली.    दरम्यान, जेव्हा पत्नी अशरफची गर्भधारणा झाल्याची माहिती मिळाली तेव्हा झहीरला आनंद साजरा करण्याची इच्छा होते. अशरफने झहीरला मागणी केली कि तू वाईट मार्ग सोडून एक चांगल्या माणासांच आयुष्य जग. त्यासाठी ती त्याला बाळ कि तुझा गुन्हेगारीचा व्यवसाय यातील एकाची निवडं कर असं विचारते त्यावेळी तो अनिच्छेने आपल्या पत्नीच्या प्रस्तावाला मान्य करतो. त्यानंतर मकसूद भाईंनी शांततेच्या करारावर चर्चा करण्याचे वचन देऊन त्याला दुबईला बोलावण्यात आले. आपल्या गर्भवती पत्नी अशरफला भारतात सोडून, ​​झहीर दुबईला रवाना झाला, कारण त्याच्या अनुपस्थितीत माणसे मारली जातील हे त्यांना ठाऊक नव्हते. परतल्यानंतर झहीरचे मुंबई विमानतळावरून अशरफसमोर अपहरण केले गेले आणि शेवटी वरिष्ठ निरीक्षक तावडे यांच्या मदतीने नानाने त्याला ठार केले. झहीरच्या मृत्यूने अशरफवर खूप प्रभाव पडला, इतका की कायदेशीर मार्गाने न्याय मिळवून देण्यात अपयशी ठरल्यानंतर, तीने बदला घेण्याचा कुटिल मार्ग निवडला आणि स्वतःचे नाव सपना असे ठेवले. अशरफची गर्भधारणा बाजूला जाते, ती तिच्या पतीच्या निधनानंतर असहाय झाली आहे. ती बदला घेण्यासाठी जे काही करते ती ही वेब मालिका “ एक थी बेगम”.

        गोष्टीतील पात्र ही खुप महत्वाची असतात. त्याच्यांशीवाय गोष्ट घडत नाही. या कथेत देखिल ही पात्र सुरेख आहेत. त्यांच्यात खरं तर सर्वच कलाकारांनी अभिनय छान केला आहे. त्यांची व्यक्त होण्याची हातोटी त्यांचा अनुभव दाखवते. त्यात अशरफ़ उर्फ सपना ची भूमिका साकारणा-या अनुजा साठे यांनी खूप मनापासून भूमिका वठवल्याचे जाणवते. काही प्रसंगात त्या अत्यंत उत्कृष्ट वाटतात. तर ज्यावेळी मारण्याचे प्रसंग असतात त्यावेळी त्या साधारण जाणवतात. झहीरची बायको म्हणून त्या उत्तम वाटतात. पुढ त्या ज्यावेळी सपना बनतात तिथे तर त्या प्रभावी ठरतात. त्यांचे सतत एका मोडमधून दुसर्‍या मोडमध्ये स्विच करणे, निरागसपणापासून मोहात पडणे, व्यथा मांडण्यापासून ते सूड घेण्यापर्यंत-प्रत्येक अभिव्यक्तीच्या बदलामुळे त्यांच्या अभिनय कौशल्यांमध्ये चुणूक दिसून आली. तरिही त्यांच्या पात्रात काहीतरी सुटल्याचं जाणवत जे प्रेक्षाकांच्या मनात घुसत नाही. चिन्मय मांडलेकर, त्यांच्या चरित्रात मुख्य पात्र असलेले समीकरण पुढे नेणारे एक कसलेले अभिनेते वाटतात. त्यांची भाषेवरील पकड आणि देहबोली मस्त जुळली आहे. राजेंद्र शिसाटकर (नाना) , अभिजीत चव्हाण (तावडे) हे त्यांच्या अभिनयामध्ये उत्कृष्ट आहेत.  त्यांच्या देहाची भाषा आणि संवाद या दोन्ही गोष्टी जबरदस्त वाटतात. प्रेक्षांना या दोघांचा प्रत्येक वेळी राग येतो. म्हणजेच यांच काम कमाल आहे. अंकित मोहन, रेशम, संतोष जुवेकर या त्यांच्या संक्षिप्त कृतीत ठीक आहे, तर अजय गेही दुबईतील डॉनच्या अभिनयाने साधारण वाटतात. यात विठठ्ल काळे आणि विवेक आपटे लक्षात राहतात. त्यांच्या वाट्याला आलेल्या भूमिका त्यांनी अत्यंत प्रभावीपणे निभावल्या आहेत. त्यातही विठठ्ल काळे इकबाल म्हणून लक्षात राहतो. अनुजा साठे, अजय गेही, अंकित मोहन, चिन्मय मंडेलकर, संतोष जुवेकर, राजेंद्र शिसाटकर, अभिजीत चव्हाण, प्रदिप डोईफोडे,  विठ्ठल काळे, नाझर खान, विजय निकम, अनिल नगरकर, विवेक आपटे, सुचित जाधव व राजू आठवले या सर्वंच कलाकारंच खूप खूप अभिनंदन कारण मराठीत एवढ्या ताकतीची वेबसिरीज गुन्हेगारी संबधातील पात्रांचे जगण यांनी पडद्यावर जिवंत केली आहेत.

        एक थी बेगमची पटकथा आपल्याला 14 व्या (शेवटच्या) भागाच्या शेवटपर्यंत मालिका पूर्णपणे बघण्यास भाग पाडते. यात परिपूर्ण बोली आहे, प्रसंगांचे योग्य वळण आहे, त्याद्वारे प्रत्येक पात्र स्वत: च्या मार्गाने वापरतो - नानाच्या टोळीच्या दक्षिणियापासून युसूफपर्यंत (जहीरचा मित्र). कथेच्या उत्स्फूर्ततेस अडथळा न आणता स्क्रिप्ट अतिशय प्रसंगात्मक ठरते. शिंव्याचा जास्त वापर नीरस वाटू शकतो, परंतु कथेच्या सामाजिक, राजकिय व गुंडगिरीची पार्श्वभूमी लक्षात घेऊन त्याकडे दुर्लक्ष केले जाऊ शकते. पण पटकथा अजून बांधेसूद झाली असती तर ताणलेल्या घटनेची तिव्रता प्रेक्षकांच्या मनात घर करून राहिली असती. दोन- तीन भाग कमी झाले असते तरी चालले असते ज्यामुळे मालिका कंटाळवाणी वाटली नसती.

        एक थी बेगममध्ये पार्श्व संगीत आणि गाण्यांनी खूप महत्वाची भूमिका बजावली आहे. बदलाचा प्रत्येक टप्पा गाठल्यानंतर थरार, तणाव, बदला आणि समाधान — सर्व काही संगीताच्या माध्यमातून एका शानदार मार्गाने व्यक्त केले गेले.  मालिकेसाठी संगीत डिझाइन करण्यात अमितराज आणि सचिन दरेकर यांनी खरोखर खूप चांगले काम केले. काही प्रसंगात चित्रपटासारखी गाणी वापरली हेही मराठी वेब मालिकेत पहिल्यांदाच जाणवत आहे.

        सचिन दरेकर हे खरोखर एक चांगले कथाकार आहेत, परंतु त्यांची कथा सांगण्याच्या पध्दतीचा वेग कमी आहे. हे खरे आहे की घटनांमध्ये द्रुत बदल झाल्यामुळे दृश्यांचे बंधन गमावले नाही. परंतु कालावधी पाहता हा जास्त वाटतो. दृष्यात्मक कथा बांधून ठेवण्यासाठी दिग्दर्श्नानाचे सूत्र उपयोगी ठरतात. पण टेलिव्हीजन मालिका आणि वेब मालिका यांच्यातील लांबीचा विचार होण गरजेचं होत. एकदंरित त्यांचा प्रयत्न छान वाटतो. एकदा पाहावी अशी एक थी बेगम बनली आहे.

       This is the beginning of the web series "Ek Thi Begum". But immediately the flashback of why this happened starts in the first part. Now the question in the minds of the audience is who killed that person? Why was she trying to kill that person? Who is this dream? Such questions have aroused curiosity.        The story of this web series is that Zaheer Bhatkar is an underworld gangster of 1980s. Who is hostile to the notorious Don Maqsood gang in Dubai. Nana Mhatre and Raghu Mhatre lead Maqsood's gang. Maqsood's team is primarily involved in drug trafficking, with Zaheer standing firm against it and destroying drugs in or around Mumbai. Later, Zaheer accidentally killed Nana's younger brother Raghu. He was initially arrested, but later received a clean chit due to insufficient evidence. Meanwhile, Zaheer wanted to celebrate when he found out that his wife Ashraf was pregnant. Ashraf demanded from Zaheer that you leave the bad way and live the life of a good man. He reluctantly agrees to his wife's offer when she asks him to choose between being a child and your criminal business. The Maqsood brothers then summoned him to Dubai, promising to negotiate a peace deal. Leaving his pregnant wife Ashraf in India, Zaheer flew to Dubai because he did not know that people would be killed in his absence. On his return, Zaheer was abducted from Mumbai airport in front of Ashraf and was later killed by Nana with the help of senior inspector Tawde. Zaheer's death had a profound effect on Ashraf, so much so that after failing to get justice through legal means, she chose the crooked path of revenge and named herself Sapna. Ashraf's pregnancy goes aside, she has become helpless after the death of her husband. All she does for revenge is the web series "Ek Thi Begum".

The characters in the story are very important. Nothing happens without him. The characters are beautiful in this story too. In fact, all the actors have done a great job. Their dexterity of expression shows their experience. It is felt that Anuja Sathe, who is playing the role of Ashraf alias Sapna, has played the role from the bottom of her heart. In some cases that sounds too good to be true. So when there are incidents of killing, they feel normal. She looks great as Zaheer's wife. Later, when they become dreams, they become effective. His constant switching from one mode to another, from innocence to temptation, from grieving to revenge बदला every change of expression showed a flaw in his acting skills. Still, there is something missing in his character that does not penetrate the minds of the audience. Chinmay Mandlekar, the main character in his character, seems to be a tight actor who carries the equation forward. His grip on language and body language are perfectly matched. Rajendra Shisatkar (Nana), Abhijeet Chavan (Tawde) are the best in his acting. Both their body language and communication seem overwhelming. The audience gets angry with these two every time. Which means it's about to be the most delusional time of the year, as well. Ankit Mohan, Resham, Santosh Juvekar are fine in their briefs, while Ajay Gehi seems normal with Don's performance in Dubai. It remembers Vitthal Kale and Vivek Apte. He has played his role very effectively. In that too, Vitthal is remembered as Kale Iqbal. Congratulations to Anuja Sathe, Ajay Gehi, Ankit Mohan, Chinmay Mandelkar, Santosh Juvekar, Rajendra Shisatkar, Abhijeet Chavan, Pradip Doiphode, Vitthal Kale, Nazar Khan, Vijay Nikam, Anil Nagarkar, Vivek Apte, Suchit Jadhav and Raju Athavale. Because Jagan has brought such a powerful webseries in Marathi to life on screen.

Ek Thi Begum's screenplay forces you to watch the entire series till the end of the 14th (last) episode. It has the perfect dialect, the right turn of events, through which each character uses his own way - from the south of Nana's gang to Yusuf (Zaheer's friend). The script becomes very incidental without interfering with the spontaneity of the story. Excessive use of swearing may seem monotonous, but it can be overlooked given the social, political, and bullying background of the story. But if the script had been more structured, the intensity of the tense incident would have remained in the minds of the audience. The two-three episodes would have been reduced but would have gone so the series would not have felt boring.

        Background music and songs have played a very important role in Ek Thi Begum. After each stage of change, thrill, tension, revenge and satisfaction - everything was expressed in a wonderful way through music. Amitraj and Sachin Darekar did a really good job in designing the music for the series. This is the first time in a Marathi web series that songs like a movie have been used in some cases.

        Sachin Darekar is a really good storyteller, but his storytelling style is slow. It is true that the constraint of the scenes is not lost due to the rapid change in events. But looking at the duration, it seems more. Directional formulas are useful for tying up visual stories. But the length between the television series and the web series had to be considered. At once their effort feels great. Begum has become a must see.

        Ek Thi Begum Katha is a well-planned thriller where the basis of the story is based on revenge. While some people are doing some good business, a housewife has lost two of the most important things in her life, one is her husband and the other is her birth.
